Silver Maple

I never like to see a tree coming down but sometimes it is necessary.  Here is a Silver Maple (Acer sacharinum) in my neighbors yard that had to come down for safety reasons.  The Silver Maple is one of the most common trees in the United States but can be short lived do to brittle wood.

Something to consider when selecting a tree for your landscape: Often, a tree that grows really fast, doesn't always develop strong wood and has weaker branching.
